Thank you for visiting our church’s “home” on the world-wide web. This page highlights our current events. In the meantime, if we can serve you in any way or answer questions about our church please feel free to call or write us.
SUNDAY WORSHIP:
Adult and children’s Sunday school begins at 9:30am:
Our children’s classes teach Biblical truth combined with singing, Bible reading, study, crafts, and other activities.
We currently have two adult classes in progress.
One class is currently studying a variety of topical studies with breaks for an expositional study of 1st John.
The other class is our Christianity 101 class which is a basic discipleship course. When this group completes this 14-week class they will begin our Christianity 201 class which is an intermediate discipleship class.
Morning worship begins at 10:30am:
Our pastor is currently preaching a series through the entire Bible – dealing with one book pretty much each Sunday. The method is still expository, but we are focusing on the central message of each book (please see sermon note page for where we are in the series).
We generally celebrate the Lord’s Table on the last Sunday of each month.
Children’s ministry: depending on the parents’ preferences, some of our children sit with their parents during the worship service, while others leave during the sermon for more age appropriate activities.
Evening worship begins at 6:00pm:
Our pastor is presently preaching through the book of Habakkuk and dealing with the topic of Biblically handling trials and adversity. In addition to the preaching of God’s Word our evening worship service also involves worship in song; testimony and prayer times, as well as opportunity to interact with our pastor with questions from time-to-time.
Children’s ministry: our Patch-the-pirate club meets every other Sunday evening.
WEDNESDAY MID-WEEK PRAYER SERVICE:
Our focus on Wednesday evenings is prayer and intercession for the needs of our church, nation, and the world. We typically devote the bulk of our time to prayer. Currently we are also reading through the book of Ezekiel together with some minor explanation and discussion.
SMALL GROUP FELLOWSHIPS:
Our Ladies Bible study meets every other Friday at 10am (child care is provided). The ladies are currently studying the Gospel of John. The study involves discussion and homework for each session.
Our Men’s fellowship group meets once a month on Saturday mornings. We will not be meeting in July or August.
Our Small Group Bible study fellowship meets every other week from 6:45pm – 7:45pm and is studying the Gospel of John that parallels the ladies’ Bible study.
Our Patch the Pirate children’s ministry meets every other Friday and every other Sunday evening.
COMMUNITY SERVICES:
Please see our “Community Services” page for more information about our Budget Coaching and Biblical Counseling ministries. There is no charge for these services.
If you live near the church you are invited to attend the Sun Oak Neighborhood Association that meets in our church Fellowship Hall on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm.
