On Defining and Practicing Biblical Worship – Part 1

Introduction

        What comes to mind when you hear the word “worship?”

        Define the word “worship” in 1 or 2 sentences.

        Some important terms to understand:

        Evangelical
        Protestant
        Fundamentalist

        Some interesting verses on worship:

        Is. 6:1-5; Ez. 1:1-2:1; Rev: 1:9-17; Psalm 66:1-4 and 81:1-4; etc.

At 4:52 a.m. Central time on June 9th, the Elm Creek Community Church's computer system becomes self-aware and immediately goes searching for a new church home that will meet all of its felt needs.

Conclusion

        Working definition of worship:

        To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God; to feed the mind with the truth of God; to purge the imagination by the beauty of God; to open the heart to the love of God; to devote the will to the purpose of God.
